WestJet Review - by Brenda L.

We flew West Jet Vacations from Toronto to St. Lucia and we stayed at the Almond Smugglers Cove in May. We had ants that infested our room the entire time and my partner had an allergic reaction to the bites. We asked to transfer to the sister hotel Almond Morgan Bay so that we could have an upper level hotel room. The hotel wanted us to pay $100 US per night for the transfer and we had aleady paid over $3600 for the trip. The hotel told us to take it up with West Jet in Toronto and West Jet in Toronto said "it's a new destination for us-mistakes happen." They also wanted us to pay for golf that was supposed to be included in the price and then they charged us $50 for a golf bag overweight charge. These are not all inclusive trips. They will charge you $50 here and $100 there when you have no choice in the matter. Their advertising is false-they do not care once they have your money. I will never fly West Jet again.

No fault of Westjet, I left my passport in a seat pocket and they absolutely refused to check that pocket and went through every possible excuse including "we have no way of finding that aircraft". This is just a matter of a simple message sent to the staff at its next recieving airport and a quick peak in the seat pocket to recover it. The carantee is all a baseless marketing ploy with no regard for helping someone when they really need it.

on my vacation to vancouver i flew on wj, the service is AMAZING! in pearson and vancouver i accidentally went to the check-in for people who did the web check-in but they checked me in anyways and in vancouver at check in they even bumped me up to a seat in the middle for no cost at all. the only in-flight problem on both was the seatback tv malfunctioned in the beginning of my return flight. and they fixed it immediately. it was my first time on wj and definitely not the last!

I have recently found out that when you pay for a years extension it is in reality one year from the date you phone so they hope youn will wait till the last minute forget and take your credit away. or cancell early and forget your year is up from the date you talked to them and take your credit away. Why can not a year mean a year and take it from the date on your ticket . I will not set another foot on west jet there customer service is non exsistant

I have submitted a review of our West Jet vacation at the Barcello Bavaro Junior suite deluxe in the D.R. Our vacation was from April 14 to 21 this year. To date, there has been no response to the concerns detailed in my review. In short, we paid for a 5 star resort, and experienced nothing more than a 3.5 rating, and have demanded some form of reimbursement for what amounted to misleading and deceitful advertizing. My West Jet rating is based solely on the lack of any response to my concerns, and does not reflect our experience with the actual flight or West Jet personnel.

i recently flew for the first time in l5 years and my destination was calgary. i enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the great flight. some people should step back and look at themselves before they judge. the reason why the fees for flights are so darn inexpensive is because they do not have all the frills. TRUST ME you pay for certain items by paying a far higher rate. honestly i paid 535.00 Toronto to Calgary round trip and by the way a one way flight from air canada would of cost me 1900.00. i could get two round trips from westjet for that price.\

thanks guys great service

Westjet offers great seat sale specials. They seem to be where Air Canada was a couple of years ago in terms of customer service. I have spent several hours at a time on hold trying to change flights but they seem to have put a "call back system" in place which works pretty good. I recently took Westjet down to LAX from Edmonton and the only issue was the TV's weren't working on the way back which only caused stress because my 4 and 5 years olds expected it. Luckily I had lots of coloring books and an Ipod with kids movies loaded onto it. They used to have quirky little jokes and "smiles were always free" but they seem to be struggling with that now. I guess I would too if I was expected to smile like a clown to all the grouchy air travelers. I'll keep using them. I always check for the cheapest rates and best flights/connections etc to make sure I'm not being ripped off. it's only seldom that i book with Air Canada when both are compared.

I travelled in WESTJET on May 15th from toronto to calgary - the flight number was 0698 that was scheduled to fly at 9:00 a.m. This is the first time I have travelled via westjet and I have to say that I had a wonderful experience. It's rather unforunate that I did not get the names of the two air hostess who served me on plain. I was sitting in seat C6 - so if these two air hostess are reading this review, i want to thank you very much for the wonderful serivce. You ladies accomodated me above and beyond. I was feeling kinda sick on the plain and without even having to ask, they brought me a gingerale with Ice and kept asking me every 1/2 hour if I was feeling okay. Thank you so much westjet for hiring quality staff and providing us with wonderful service. WESTJET AND THEIR EMPLOYEES ROCK!

My adult son and I just traveled with west jet on apr 25th/10 and returned apr 30th st/10,flight 1788 going and flight 1789 coming back fron vegas, first if all the checkin lady at Vancouver was not nice or helpful and as I travel handycapped it was very differicult to watch the other agents take really good care of the other clientsI think I should have got her name but at think it could be checked who ckecked us in,anyway secondly, the u.s. agents were great and my wheelchair came quickly,on the return flight the stewardis wasnt that freindly and when we landed back in Vancouver I had to ask people about my wheelchair then the wj employie just pointed me and my son to some elevater around the corner,we had no idea where to go(,walking)this was so bad,as we had just traveled with Alaska in jan 2010 and it was way better, also the wj employie left us on our own at the baggage area ,no wheelchair,no golf cart, nothing,it was so hard for me,as it was a very long way to walk,my son had to try to help me and handle the luggage,it was terrible, this should have never happened. There was another older lady that was left too,she had no one to help her,we dont no what happened to her,my son tried to help her too,WE will probably never travel with west jet again .

A personnel of Westjet stole my $800 eyeglasses and nobody in the company did anything about it. I fly a lot and since this incident 5 years ago I never took Westjet and it allow me to find much more honest company out there. Don't get blinded by the publicity to ME all they are is robbers
