The Tryp Peninsula

On Cuba's north coast lies the popular tourist area called Varadero, where Sol Melia's newest 4 and a half star all inclusive, The TRYP Peninsula Varadero opened in July, 2001. Situated at the end of the Varadero strip near the Punta Hicacos national park, this expansive resort is set upon a beautiful stretch of powdery white sand beach. The clear and calm turquoise waters are truly outstanding, and amongst the best in the Caribbean. The beach is separated from the property by thick vegetation, a fair distance from the main pool area of the resort. Watersports such as pedal boats, sea kayaks, windsurfing, snorkelling, and catamaran, are included in your all-inclusive price.

Five hundred and ninety one rooms are housed in twenty bright and fresh two and three story villa complexes, spread amongst neatly landscaped pathways and boardwalks. Oversized rooms are colourful and brightly decorated, with one king or two double beds, sitting area with satellite TV, mini fridge, balcony or terrace, and a large walk in closet with in room safe. Large bathrooms are sparkling with the newest fixtures, and fresh decor. These rooms will accommodate up to four people, and the electricity is 220 volts.

The Tryp Peninsula is one of the few resorts in Cuba truly catering to families. A separate children's play area has its own kids pool, complete with a small waterslide, play equipment, and a unique pirate ship for more climbing and fantasy play. Staff at the kids club entertain the children, and bikes are available, to ride around the resorts' massive grounds. A baby club even provides babysitting services, so Mom and Dad can get a break and enjoy some free time.

Swim-up-bars are always popular hangouts for meeting new friends from all over the world, and cooling off at the same time. The use of whites and pastels in the large free form pool and surrounding deck, create a brightness that stands in stark contrast to the bleak, grey skies of a Canadian winter. Activity staff ensure guests can be lively and active, with water aerobics, games, and poolside dancing to Latin salsa music.
